Helpeep case4
-Sharing blankets and cushion-

Hi all, this is Tsubasa Goya from Helpeep™.
Today's story that I would like to share with you is about the friend who has given me $2000 when I had hard time in 2014.

Ken V. is my friend from Judo. He and I talk pretty often on the phone as well as in person.
One day we were talking about how bad my bad is.
Because of the intense Judo training ever since a little, I have a lot of injuries, almost every joints in my body in pain.

After moved to new place, I did not have much stuff, of course, and I was sleeping on the floor(carpet).
I thought I would love sleeping on the floor since that's how I grew up with Futon in Japan, yet every joints of my body starts getting pain. Soon I became unable to move due to serious pain.
In fact, for the first time in my life, my back went out badly that I could not move for a while one night. after the incident, the condition got worse and worse especially the lower back (went out a couple more times).
I felt really miserable as if being a real old man even though I'm still in 30s...

Ken understands how hard it is just to live in such pain since his wife also suffers from serious neck and back pain.
He told me he has extra blankets and a thicker Yoga mat that are not used and might help even a bit.
We were at a coffee shop, so on the way back, we went straight to his home to pick up the mat and blankets and pillows.
Ever since, I put the yoga mat on the floor, blankets on the mat to sleep.
and use pillows and cushion when I'm sitting on the floor to lean on.
Thanks to those and his kindness, pain goes away 95%! Fantastic!!

Just a little thing to do makes great impact on others' lives.
Everyone has some hard time in our lives, but it would be huge difference whether you have someone care and help you or not.
People around think and feel the same.
Let's start from you with people around you!

Hope it would make your life a little sweeter, happier and more smile :)

Please feel free to comment and share your stories as well. Or you can send me an email with your story so that I would post and share for you.
Thank you for reading my story.

Peace,
Tsubasa Goya

Hello there!
It is Tsubasa Goya again. I would like to share my experience with you as always.
How helpeep works and be a part of helpeep community.

-Helpeep case3-
Getting a ride to home and grocery shopping.

Today's story is about Yoshi M and Jun S.

Yoshi, a friend of mine from work often gives me a ride to home after work.
I never ask for a ride, but he knows it would be much easier for me, so he just asks me if I need a ride.
Sometimes he even does not ask, just tells me he will take me home from work!
Also he has helped little portion of moving process when I was moving.
What a nice guy and sincere of doing something with what he can do.
He does not do it for money and has no expectation of any returns. He does it because he cares and he can.
Later I offered him to go eat that's on me since I cannot just say "Thank you" just not enough of appreciation towards him that I want to do something to show my appreciation.
Thank you very much!

And another helpeep is Jun S. He works next door from where I work and knew I take a bus for commute.
Whenever he can, he offers a ride to home without me asking.
on the way home, sometimes we stop by grocery store that enables me to buy necessary stuff, food and water.
Thanks to his generosity, I could get meat and veggies to cook at home!
He told me why he does what he does, he saw and heard other people were giving a ride to whoever in need when he was living in Texas before. He remembers that he would like to do the same in a future for others.

That's how 'Pay it Forward' works!

We all like goodness. Helping others simply makes us happy and sense of being needed for others, societies and feel the joy of living.
I am pretty sure that that's what we, all human being love to do.
Hope in a near future, we would touch more of kindness and love by helping each other from the bottom of heart.
Change starts from you by helping people around you.
Let's take action!

Please feel free to give us your comments.
We welcome and appreciate your testimonials to share with Helpeep community also!

Helpeep case2

Hi there!
I would like to share my story about one of helpeeps that I have gotten help from.

His name is Shuya S, he is the general manager at where I work.
I started working the company Jan 2015.
In the end of August 2015, I had to find other place to live (since previous place was little bit too high of rent to keep living).
I did not have to move that far, about 5 miles, but I don't have a car, so It was not easy.
I was thinking of having to rent a truck to move.

Mr. Shuya, when he knew about moving, he immediately offered me help with moving.
He is a GM of this company and work pretty much everyday (6.5 days a week),
Yet he kindly offered me his time and labor work (carrying boxes on the stairs from my room to the car back and forth) on his half day off.

After put all my stuff in his Prius, we headed to new place, but owner was not there and locked, so we went to eat at a restaurant before unload the stuff.

He even paid for food (we had Ramen and fried rice!), and helped me unload stuff at new place and went straight to work afterwords..

He did not ask for money or any returns. He just did it because he has a good heart and simply like helping people around.
In fact, later on I tried to pay him and take him to eat, yet he said "No no it's OK".

Thanks to his help, I did not have to spend a penny to move (since I was still tight financially), and even felt great gratitude of true connection with this person.

I will definitely do the same to others when in need in a future.
Pay it forward and make the world better place!

Thank you Mr.Shuya S.

If you ever have this kind of experience, feel free to share with us on comments.
We would like to share and expand the love of true heart with many people as possible.
So that hope we can change the world!

Thank you for reading and I will keep sharing my stories and others'.

Cheers!

Hi there!

I would like to start sharing how I have touched the genuine heart of people around me.
I am pretty sure a lot of you have had the similar experiences in you life as well.

My friend Nick has been helping me in many ways ever since I have come to the US.
When I had no idea about this country, he took me to many places and parties to show how Americans live in this country.

I met him at Dojo (martial arts practice hall), so we train together hang out and so on.
He understands Japanese culture and respect people as we do in Japan.

When I have any trouble, he is there to help me with whatever he can.

One time, when my car got stolen, he generously let me borrow his nearly brand new bicycle for almost half year.
Thanks to his generosity, I could commute to work plus had great exercise riding bicycle!
How efficient!

There are so many things that he has helped me with.
What I feel good about is that he does it because he likes/feels good helping people.
I believe he is one of helpeep that I know who is American care about others.

I feel by caring someone, taking actions for someone, we could feel connected.
Even with Social network such as facebook, twitter and so on, sometimes we feel not connected (maybe most time).
A hand writing letter is becoming a email, many other things become digital and more convenient thanks to technology, yet we still feel disconnected. pretty interesting, isn't it?

I hope we feel more connected to people surrounded at least, then even strangers in the future.
By caring others, sharing what you have, both feel joy of life.
Gratitude keeps us going forward.

Let's start sharing what you have and what you can do to others.
Not there yet? let's help yourself first!
Look at yourself in a mirror and say hi with a smile! You could help yourself :)

Introduction to Helpeep | A platform/Community to help people from heart.

Hello World!

My name is Tsubasa Goya, the founder of Helpeep.com.
Helpeep™ was born when I had hard time in the end of 2014.
I had nowhere to go. Just lost a job, didn't even know what to do in my life.
I was at the airport thinking to leave the country, yet did not have enough money to even buy a ticket. I asked my friend who lives near the airport if I could stay at his place. He said yes and came to pick me up at the airport.
Stayed at his place for a couple days.
Two other friends of mine, brother and sister offered and helped me from their heart with their place to sleep, food to eat and ride to wherever I needed to go just because they feel good helping me or others.
They did not help me for money and even did not have any expectation of returns. They helped me only because they feel good helping me.
At the time, I did not even have a job to pay the rent and any bills wondering how I would survive or simply thinking of becoming a homeless..
One of a friend from Judo dojo asked me about my situation, and helped me with $2,000 to cover the cost of living, rent, all the bills and grocery to eat.
I still am grateful of him and his wife in fact I would have been a homeless otherwise.
Thanks to the brother-sister, the friend from Judo and his wife and many other people, I could go through and overcome the hard time.

Throughout the experiences, I have touched people's true heart and felt connected as humankind.
I felt really good to realize that people's true heart has not been dead and gone, in fact there are still a lot of people who help people just because they want to and they know that brings happiness to their lives.

I am from Japan, where people think about others first before themselves. It is only natural to me that people help each other even strangers without any expectation.

I came to the United States in 2008. Soon after, I realized that people here (in Southern California) are busy with their own businesses and no time to care about others and have "Me First" mentality which is completely opposite from where and how I grew up with.
But I understood as Tokyo or big cities are becoming like that even in Japan though just a little bit better still. I could see Japan or other places will be something similar to the situation I am in sooner or later.

I feel like we, human being used to be able to help each other naturally without thinking about money or returns.(we feel gratitude and want to do something back naturally anyways)
And I believe helping people brings sense of connection to others and happiness to our lives being appreciated and needed to others and society.

It is pretty hard to trust people here since a lot of people think about their own benefit and don't care about how others feel or what happens to others.
So people have naturally become defensive not to be tricked or betrayed, thus that makes sort of like "Dry relationship" where people don't trust each other, instead exchange with money or other returns for help, which is easy, simple and does not bring you feel like owe someone something.
It seems like working!...

the problem with that is if you don't have money, you cannot get help.
If you don't have any other resources for return, you cannot get help.
Even you make a lot of money, we feel lonely and alone in this world.
Because of “Dry relationship”, we have the sense of disconnection to others, sometimes even with own family…

I believe people live for happiness, and happiness come from a lot of things, yet genuine sustainable happiness come from being needed by others and society.
Even you do not have anything special, there are a lot of people who need your hand.
Even if you don't have a lot of money, there are still something we can do to help people and society.
And you will realize even you have nothing, there are still people who appreciate you,  who think you are a superhero!

It does not have to be big things. It could be as small thing as smiling at others and say Hi.
That could make their days. That could help their lives. That could save their lives and have the sense of connection with others as humankind.
The connection helps us not to feel lonely, depressed. And being cared feels much better than not cared.
So I decided to create this community driven platform to help each other with what we can do such as:

Giving a ride to your friends and/or family who in need,

Going to grocery shopping for elderly people in your residence, who have hard time driving themselves, going outside and moving/walking too much due to their health condition,

Giving a lecture of what you are good at to people who need some help figuring out things, yet don’t know what to do,

Taking neighbors/friends’ dog for a walk and play with them while they are busy with something else,

Sharing food, drinks, clothes with someone in need,

Making donation to friends and family in need,

Providing a sofa to crash on, and many more! You name it.

By doing this, we can make a better place around the world where people help each other from heart and reconnect each other as humankind.
Also, we would attract same kind of people around and expand the positive energy around you.

Let’s take the first step to make the world better place. We start from people around you and small community.
Change starts from you! Join us and Let’s change the world together!

Viva the world, Viva human being.
Let's go forward,
Tsubasa Goya
